Porcelain
Porcelain is fired at very high temperatures (1200 – 1400 degrees celsius). It is a ceramic mass mainly made of kaolin but also feldspar and quartz and other minerals.
It originates in China around 600 AD and was “reinvented” in Dresden in the beginning of the 18th century. Porcelain is also called “white gold” a testimony of how precious it was.
